To use tabs, please use full web version. I believe the goal of parenting is to give my children the skills to become self-sufficient physically, socially, and spiritually. As I try a new technique I ask myself, is this teaching my child how to make good choices? Is she learning to ask God what the correct choice is? My goal is that my girls will be able to fully function as God's servants and become strong leaders for positive change.

Christian-based Conflict Resolution Resources
There are several songs in my book. I have recordings of those here in this blog. Just go to the book tab and scroll until you find the song you are looking for. I hope it helps you and your loved ones.

A great resource for talking about sex from infant to teen
God's Design for Sex is a series. Each book introduces concepts that are age appropriate. I prefer this over Kevin Leman's book. The first one just talks about how boys and girls are different and God made them.

Obedience Chart
Do you ever find yourself getting upset because you have to tell your kids something over and over again before they listen? As I felt myself get red in the face I decided it was time to make a change. Each child has a chart on the fridge. If they obey within 3 seconds they get a check mark. Each check will be a quarter at the end of the week. If they don't obey and have to be told 3 times, they get an X, which means I will take a quarter away at the end of the week. So far we have more checks than X's. I'd feel really bad if I half to take money away from them instead of giving them some money at the end of the week. I find that I don't yell as often with this new system. Give it a try!

Dunst Baby Language
According to this popular author, you can tell what your baby wants by listening to the sound she makes. From age 0-3months a baby will naturally make sounds that match what they need: food, diaper change, etc. There is a great web site and new app! Check out http://www.dunstanbaby.com!
New Mom Books
Here are some of the books I used as a new mom. "Pregnancy, Childbirth, and your growing Latter-day Saint Family" by Kathleen Tooley Johnson. "So That's What They're For! The Definitive Breastfeeding Guide" by Janet Tamaro, and "The Complete and Authoritiatve Guide Caring for your Baby and Young Child" by The American Academy of Pediatrics.

How to strengthen the family
In my family I try to give every family member at least 5 minutes of solid eye contact and listening. Weekly, we have a family night to either spend time playing games or religious instruction. Monthly my husband and I have a date. At least twice a year we take a trip together.
